Alicia Mielke was born and raised on a wheat farm in Eastern Washington State. Alicia is currently the Concert Manager at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, MA. She received her Masters degree in music from New England Conservatory studying with Paula Robison and her Bachelors of Music, summa cum laude, from The University of Texas at Austin with Marianne Gedigian. Alicia placed 3rd at the Pappoutsakis Memorial Flute Competition in 2013 and was the recipient of the 2012 Boston Woodwind Society’s Flute Merit Award. She has also won the Florida Flute Associations Young Artist competition in 2010 and finished second at the state level of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist competition in 2009. She has performed concertos with the Spokane Symphony and at the Texas Music Teachers Association summer concert. Alicia has given multiple recitals in her family’s barn in Harrington, WA with donations taken to benefit the Harrington Food Bank and Spokane Public Radio.
