Caroline Bembia

New York native Caroline Bembia has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in concert halls all over North America and Europe. She had her Alice Tully Hall debut in November 2012, where she performed the U.S. premier of Hilda Paredes' Demente Cuerda (2004) for harp and orchestra with the New Juilliard Ensemble. In the summer of 2012 she was a finalist in the American Harp Society's Anne Adams Award competition. She has also garnered an honorable mention in the Juilliard Pre-College Open Concerto Competition, and has been featured as a soloist in the Massapequa Philharmonic.

Caroline has given solo and chamber music performances at summer festivals such as Bowdoin, Aspen, Academie Internationale d'Ete de Nice, and Festival Music Alp in Courchevel, France. In addition, Caroline is an accomplished orchestral harpist and was the principal harpist of the New York Youth Symphony during their 2005-2006 and 2007-2008 seasons.

Caroline began her harp studies at age seven, and just four years later was accepted into The Juilliard School's Pre-College Division in the studios of Emily Oppenheimer and Bridget Kibbey. After six years in the Pre-College program, she graduated with a diploma with honors, and continued her harp studies with Judy Loman at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada, where she was generously given the Dean's Scholarship Award. Caroline is currently in her third year of pursuing an undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School, in the studio of Nancy Allen.
