Jennifer Krabbe

With a stage presence that has been called “joyously uninhibited” (Opera Canada), soprano Jennifer Krabbe is finding success on both the operatic and the concert stage. Originally from Northern Ontario, she is currently based in Toronto where she is studying with soprano Monica Whicher, and pianist Peter Tiefenbach. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Western Ontario, as well as an Artist Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School, from which she graduated in the Spring of 2012.
Some of Jennifer’s recent operatic roles include Taumännchen and Sandmännchen in Hansel und Gretel with Opera By Request, Linfea in La Calisto, and Papagena in The Magic Flute with the Glenn Gould School’s Opera Workshop, as well as First Lady in Die Zauberflöte and Oberto in Alcina with the Halifax Summer Opera Workshop.

Past concert repertoire includes Charpentier’s Messe des Morts, Gabrieli’s Inecclesiis, Albinoni’sMagnificat and Fauré’s Requiem. This season, Jennifer is the soprano soloist and Sidgwick Scholar in the Orpheus Choir of Toronto, with whom she will be singing the Larry Nickel’s Requiem for Peace, the Canadian premiere of Howard Goodall’sEvery Purpose Under Heaven, and ĒriksEšenvalds’ Passion and Resurrection.
