Peter Ferry Percussionist

Peter Ferry

Praised as a “percussion genius… presenting percussion in a stunning, thoughtful way,” (Democrat and Chronicle) Peter Ferry [b. 1991] is a young American percussion soloist quickly gaining recognition for meaningful, entertaining performances of contemporary repertoire. Since his premiere concerto performance at age 18, Ferry has been in demand as a guest soloist with a range of ensembles. Highlights of the 2012-2013 season include the North American premiere of Joe Duddell’s “Ruby” as well as the New York premiere of Jacob TV’s “Barracuda Concerto”. Ferry also has a passion for multimedia performance, collaborating with artists of other disciplines to deepen the concert experience. His solo multimedia show at the Rochester Fringe Festival was reviewed as “breathtaking… all that such festivals are supposed to be: funny, boundary-pushing, thought-provoking.” In 2013, Ferry received the prestigious Performer’s Certificate from his alma mater, the Eastman School of Music, recognizing “outstanding performing ability.”
